Previous rainfall over past 24 hrs had actually contributed to higher turbidity levels along the creek. There was a slight smell emitting from the creek along it's path from Banyule Rd to the test site at the footbridge. Although the turbidity resulted in a clear test of 10NTU, the rest of the creek was poor. Bug activity was low, with only several species noted down. High phosphate readings from the creek was the main concern. High phosphate readings from the creek was the main concern. With this and other flows from nearby drains and runoff has caused major concerns towards the health of the swamp. Water quality at our main test site at the bench sears was not clear wnough to carry out chemical testing. Discoloration from the presence of tannins from plants and bebris had forced me to look for a clearer sample. Had to dilute sample to carry out further testing. As can be seen by the phosphate result the swamp is in bad shape. Bug activity low.
