Physical Chemical Tests

Good rainfall in area less than 48hrs earlier, with about 30mm in rain gauge at Mill Park (BoM recorded about 30mm at Viewbank). Sample site is in flowing water just above a riffle, after a long section of sheltered reedy waterway. There are several willows shading the sampling point. The water today was flowing stronger than usual, but not surprising after the good rain we had on Friday. The water level was only 13mm below my reference point which is 15cm higher than when monitored last month. Overall result was poor water quality. The rain has probably washed a lot of the macroinvertebrates downstream. last testing in Nov 2008 we had about 200 amphipods and only 40 this testing and no snails this time.
