We picked up quite a lot of rubbish as we walked up the Riverwalk including plastic, polystyrene foam, paper from the river and its banks.
Contractors hired by Parks Victoria have slashed a path from the first ford to our observation site as well as poisoning some of the weeds such as blackberries and asparagus fern along the river walk.
The river was very low with minimal flow, lots of pollen and leaf litter on the surface.
