In the pools of water i could see on the downstream side of the bridge there was scum covering the whole surface area at the collection site and beyond, the water sample taken from underneath the scum had a slight brown tinge but was reasonably clear. I could not see any pools of water looking upstream. There were about 12 Damesfly nymps ranging in length from about 4mm to 25mm in the sample collection bucket with the water sample collected.
