Scum has formed on downstream side of culvert where I have previously been sampling (see photos). The water is fairly stagnant here where it was previously flowing.
I sampled instead in flowing water a couple of metres downstream of scum and on eastern or far side of stream.
The scum could be due to a combination of stagnant water from the partially blocked culvert (western or near side), nutrients from the upstream lake and birdlife, and the iron oxide coming from the drain seepage (lower left in attached photos).
