It looked like someone had been fishing at the collection site. Disturbed soil for grubs/worms? and a Y shaped stick stuck into the bank to hold a rod.
I saw 2 Rakali very clearly with their white tips to their tails at the spring site just near to pumping station and they moved downstream past the concrete weir edge. I have seen Rakali many times and have photos from Lake Wendouree that show them, so I am confident in my ID. Very poor photo attached.
Saw Wedge-tailed eagle at Res. At site saw 4 White-faced Herons, Starlings, Eurasian Blackbirds, Laughing Kookaburra, Australian Magpie
What a day! So great to see the Rakali. It made my week.
