on Sept 16 Swamp Creek did run at approx 0.85 m above its normal 0.2 m height (total height 1.25m) at the gauging point on BimBim bridge. This was after 35 mm of rain during the previous 24 hours.
BimBim bridge is a small pedestrian bridge leading across the creek next to our house. It was build by us in Jan 2013 and gives easy access to the land across the creek.
Habitat
On our property Swamp Creek cuts approx 2 to 2.5 m into the surrounding land. At spots there are aquatic plants in the stream. Its waterholes and Billabongs are many and deep. The creek is bordered by old growth River Red Gums. There are many snags. Some forming dams.
When running at approx 1.2 m the creek reaches about 5m width at BimBim bridge.
