There was a great deal of litter at the site today, incl. a shopping trolley, a very large piece of board, a bike tyre, and a number of paint spray cans. Some of these things may have been washed down after heavy rain, but some almost certainly had been dumped there. The sample had high turbidity, so it was necessary to filter before testing for Ammonium and Phosphate. Ammonium levels at both sites were very high today, though Phosphate was much higher at this site than at Fort Knox., which was interesting as this testing was done on a Sunday when I would not have expected there to be discharge from the industrial area into the drains (which would normally be the suspected reason for differences between the two sites) A family of ducks added a happier note to the unsightliness of the area.
