Litter/Pollutants bottles,cans,packets,paper,plastic,polystyrene,other
Other litter: balls and drinking straws. There were plastic bottles and polystyrene balls in the pit drain, but fewer than usual. There was a large patch of litter at the sampling spot. We cleared some of it , but couldn't take it all. There is a large paint tin? caught in the vegetation below the dam wall. Still there: Pieces of concrete, Rubbish on ledges, dam area, Weed trees in waterway, Lots off rubbish between Karingal Drive and the creek (from Ramptons road to Meruka Drive). We are not sure who is responsible for clearing this. Could a rubbish bag be left somewhere for collection? The new wetland is dry. Interesting to see Magpie Moth larvae feeding on Senecio there. Many Acacia dealbata have died, but there is new growth in some places. Birds: Rainbow Lorikeets, Chestnut Teal, Magpies, Mudlarks, Noisy Miners, White-browed Scrubwren (good news!)
