More Oxygen this time (flow had been faster.) Stream depth had been 80cm and stream width had been 5.2m. Flattened streamside vegetation.
Flow was slow at first, but it rained whilst we were monitoring causing the flow to increase significantly. Water was pouring over the dam wall by the time we had finished.
Turbidity was very high making it difficult to see the bugs in the sample.
Other litter --- balls.
In the pit drain: Polystyrene boxes, Polystyrene balls, Plastic Bottles, Balls, Pen.
There was foam/froth below the dam wall.
Some sand had been tipped down the side of the dam area.
Still there: Small pieces of concrete. (We are clearing these bit by bit.)
Litter on ledges of dam area.
Weed trees growing in waterway.
Birds: Rainbow Lorikeets, Pied Currawongs, Magpies, Crested Pigeons,
Spotted Turtle Doves.
We found 2 large tadpoles in the sample. One was very large, and with hind legs. (probably
a Pobblebonk.)
