Awful conditions here - black mud and orange coated mud - salt residues, foul smell, very foul water - like sewage. Could not see any birds here - hard to believe that anything other than the most pollutant tolerant species could live in this environment. Very difficult access to this site - very overgrown. Abandoned this sample - appeared so rancid that smell of sample unbearable. Tried to test for D.O. but sample reacted and gassed (
