Rained in last 48 hrs. This month I was able to return to my normal test site due the past rainfalls. Although the salinity levels have dropped since last test it is still very high for a creek that experiences good flows in its prime. The contributing factors could result from the large water drains close to housing and granite belt thoughout the creekbed. We must also consider the amount of unwanted mixture of garbage and perhaps chemicals filtering in. At least the phosphate level had dropped this month. It would be nice to contribute more time towards this site, especially cleaning up the creek itself from rubbish and weeds. Good project for a Landcare group. Litter pollutants visable: paper, bottles, cans, plastic, polystyrene, wax product, cardboard, metallic object and all sorts of other rubbish.
