There was gale force wind ahead of a cold front. Observations from the BoM for Mt Gellibrand at 14.00 on that day were: temperature 16.3 C; wind nnw 56-67 kph; humidity 50%; no rain in previous 24 hours; 16.4 mm in previous week; 20.4 mm month to date. I saw no birds, likely because of the high winds.
