On Aug 14th we returned home to find the newly upsized private dam upstream of our ephemeral waterway (that runs into Mosquito Creek just downstream of our sampling pool) had failed and sediment filled water had flooded down through our property.
A pipe has continued to syphon water over the failed dam wall through our ephemeral waterway since, down into Mosquito Creek, as you can see in the photo below.
