Hi Vanessa, It took three days to calibrate the DO tester. When it finally calibrated, I took the reading and left it in the sample. It stabilised after a while, not much different to the first reading, but steady. Possibly, the unit needs a lot of time to settle??? Maybe the sedimentation does not influence the readings, though when trying to stabilise it, I gave the unit a shake and then took the battery out (several times each) and some of the times the reading jumped from ~60% to ~130% and then dropped back. While it is high, the unit will calibrate (mostly). Strange, eh? The stream temp was 17.2C and the sample temp was 23.3C, by the time the reading was recorded. The pool is silting up still, filling the pool back upstream from the ford. Still 20 cm to sample from. Cheers, Terry
